A vibe-coded web app that displays daily AI-generated jokes from a stand-up comedian living in the year 2077.
Each day, visitors see fresh observations from Zeph Kowalski, a cynical comic making dystopia bearable.
The jokes draw from a detailed world guide I built for an original TTRPG on Earth in the late 21st century. A climate-ravaged planet divided among factions. The NAF (North American Federation) worships tech CEOs. The Southern Cartel Alliance has HR departments and Employee of the Month awards. Europa is half-underwater but property values keep rising. There are giant rats with book clubs, scorpions the size of dogs, and everyone has a "climate trauma therapist." The setting provides endless material: corporate satire, political absurdity, evolved creatures, and the struggles of living in 200-square-foot pods, eating synthetic protein paste called "glorp."
Every joke is crafted using a formula: Combine at least two of six comedic elements: Clever (smart twists), Bizarre (absurdist situations), Naughty (safe-for-work mischief), Cruel (deserved misfortune), Cute (ridiculous whimsy), and Recognizable (painfully familiar experiences). The AI applies juxtaposition (profound meets petty), inherently funny words, near-logic that almost makes sense, and inappropriate transparency
The jokes are cached daily so repeat visitors see the same content until midnight.
